Tunnels and Subway Systems
Tunnels and subway systems are often subject to heavy hydrostatic pressures, contaminated ground water causing reinforcing steel corrosion and a variety of other ailments. It is important to insure that they are waterproofed effectively when they are built, if not, repair work is extremely expensive and creates many inconveniences for the public users.
Using Hydronil´s unique MICT systems during construction, tunnels and subways can enjoy a long cost effective and user friendly life. Hydronil will reduce construction costs by eliminating membranes and the human error factor associated with them, will autogenously heal micro cracks as they occur, and provide concrete with increased durability.
Hydronil´s MICT technology products may also be used to repair existing tunnels and subways. The ability of MICT crystalline materials to work from either the positive or negative side, together with a variety of supporting products, make tunnel and subway repairs effective and permanent.
