Parking Garages, Slabs & Driveways
Parking garages, slabs and driveways whether above grade or below grade are subject to a variety of environmental conditions that will deteriorate the concrete and structural integrity of concrete. Even water washing of vehicles need to taken care of in many parking garages.
A proactive approach to waterproofing these structures is critical to the long term performance of the concrete. One common area of structural failure is spalling and cracking due to the moisture ingress carried in by cars themselves.
Even in dry areas permeable concrete is exposed to small amounts of moisture ingress and the problems caused by them. Below grade and exposed concrete is even more prone to problems related to water ingress.
Another common problem in more extreme environments shared by parking structures is de icing salts and/or water borne contaminants. The problems related to these are compounded by freeze thaw cycles and can rapidly deteriorate concrete.
