Basements and Foundations

Basements and foundations are an important part of any structure. While we are all familiar with the problems and damages to personal effects associated with water ingress into a basement, and the associated health risks that come with spending time in an area rife with molds and fungus, often people disregard the long term effects of structural deterioration associated with water ingress.

Water ingress (even in areas not used) can lead to deterioration of a structure. Not only will the structure be subject to concrete cracking and deterioration due to expansion of the reinforcing steel through corrosion, but ground water may often carry with it contaminates that are harmful to a long concrete life. A dry basement can increase the life and durability of any structure and make it a pleasant and useful part of a building.

The Hydronil approach, for new basements and foundations, consists of using either a surface applied system or an admixture system, both of which are cost effective and permanent.
